Don't Forget God's Word
Proverbs 3:1-2 (1) "My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: (2) For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee."
It is important that we do not forget the commandments of God. The flesh has a very short memory span when it comes to spiritual things. We need to guard them in our heart and cultivate them so they grow in our heart and mind. When they are firmly rooted in our life they will bring many blessed benefits to our life. How often and quickly the children of Israel forgot all the wonderful things God did for them when they left Egypt. We must not follow that poor example in our own life today, unfortunately it is easy to do and that is why we must guard against it.
Solomon reminds young people what the application of God's Word will do for them in their life. We must always remember that obedience is always blessed by God. It will help us get more done in a day and surely we all need that. When you are trying to live for God, raise a family and serve in your local church there is never a lack of things to do and we need all the help we can in getting things done. We can also have a longer and more peaceful life when we walk with God. That does not always mean we will live a life long in years, but it will never be cut short because of sin and we will be here as long as God wants us to be. Thankfully we can live a peaceful life in a troubled world when we walk with God. These are all great blessings and will enrich every life. The heart must not forget God's Word but embrace it and make it the foundation of their life.
Cultivate God's Word in your heart and mind today and it will yield great fruit.
